The Synergy Team
The adage "our most important asset is our people" is basic to all service-based organizations but an even more a fundamental truth of successful IT entities employing a Team-Centric model. The value we deliver to our clients – critical to our success - is ultimately dependent upon the people we hire and the contract partners we choose to work with.
Our Team functions at its highest level when each member shares and upholds Synergy Group IT’s Core Values. Adherence to the same values permits deep collaboration within our team as well as with our clients’ teams creating the type of Synergy which fuels continued delivery excellence in the IT arena.
The Team-Centric model demands engagement and dissent as critical to success and fosters the embrace of each unique perspective. We deeply value diversity of opinions, experiences, and backgrounds as these traits enrich the Team’s overall success.
Accordingly, Synergy recruits talented individuals who while sharing the same values are confident, independent-minded, and demonstrate respect for differing opinions and inclusivity as regards other team members, our partners, and our client community. As our organization is nonhierarchical we pursue individuals seeking opportunities that are face-paced, challenging, and above all rewarding.
Members of Team Synergy are expected to demonstrate and embrace three characteristics critical to their success - Integrity, Intelligence, and Intensity.
Integrity leads to respect of associates and confidence in your decisions. It requires adherence to the highest ethical standards demonstrating:
- Responsibility making decisions and taking actions at times with moderate supervision as tasks dictate. Demonstrating capability and discipline through maturity and pride in your work. Occasionally taking on responsibilities beyond your job description as challenges dictate.
- Accountability through taking ownership of choices, decisions and actions particularly those resulting in sub-optimal outcomes. Being committed to sharing unfavorable news with candor and directness regardless of the consequences thereby fostering trust among colleagues.
- Trust by honoring commitments and obligations to colleagues, business partners, and, most importantly, to our clients.
- Honesty in dealings with co-workers and strategic partners.
- Transparency by freely sharing your ideas and actions as well as granting unfettered access to colleagues, strategic business partners or clients as required.
Intelligence, generally defined as general cognitive problem-solving skills, is a measure of mental and emotional characteristics.
Mental characteristics include the ability to:
- reason and think critically
- be curious and highly motivated
- quickly comprehend complex information
- readily discern patterns amongst data
- be creative
Emotional components - prerequisite to building and sustaining personal relationships necessary to successful team contribution - include:
- self-awareness
- empathy and social skills
- the ability to be intellectually honest through constant reflection and process of feedback
These aspects of intelligence shape communication skills necessary to convey an individual’s ideas and, as importantly, drive what a person does when presented with an unfamiliar challenge. Most are sharpened through the courage to ask questions, the self-control to listen attentively, and the knowledge to synthesize information gathered.
Intensity is a measure of concentration, focus, and determination – the energy - applied when pursuing one’s goals. The scale of intensity is borne of the strength of tenacity as fueled by motivation. Competitive determination and personal drive are pillars of motivation.
And, motivation propels urgency in addressing individual tasks, the building blocks of small assignments and larger projects. It energizes the drive to rise to challenges as well as overcome obstacles which arise amidst life’s many distractions.
Intensity generates action. At Synergy we believe, as succinctly put by Mahatma Gandhi, “Action expresses priorities”.
